This is Patti
Patti Londre lives, cooks and eats in the Westwood area of Los Angeles, CA. She’s made a decent living writing about food, working for food companies, promoting food. Now she blogs about home cooking, activities and travels. Worthwhile recipes, she shares! Here’s more:
- She’s a home economist, yup that’s an actual college degree. If you’ve seen old Mary Tyler Moore shows, the “Betty White” character is a home economist. Basically an original Martha Stewart.
- Started a public relations firm in 1982, specializing in the food industry and has earned a nice pile of industry awards.
- Met Larry in 1977 - a very handsome advertising AE. This was at the headquarters of one of his clients, the Vons supermarket chain. Met in March, first date June 11, secretly dated, engaged December 23, married May 20. All business.
- A DINK. Pug dog, Sake recently passed at age 15. Larry’s kitten, Penny, is a holy terror and definitely NOT a stress-reducer, no matter what studies say about pets.
- Is the second of five daughters: Sue, Patti, Gretchen, Jane, Jackie. Many brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and their kids. Parents, Ray and Gloria, can still keep track of the list.
- Was a TV contestant on Wheel of Fortune and won.
- Volunteers for Project Angel Food and UCLA Ronald Reagan Medical Center.
- Owns Camp GetAway for Mothers & Others “sleep away camp” for women to re-live the joys of summer camp from our youth. S’mores anyone?
- Created Camp Blogaway Bootcamp for Food & Recipe Bloggers.
- Has traveled to all 50 U.S. states, and all 7 continents. Has bungee jumped in New Zealand, fed sharks in Bora Bora, slid down a glacier in Antarctica, got up close and personal with sphinx, rode plenty of elephants and camels, and destroyed her shoulder banging around in a Kenyan safari van. Ouchy.
