It’s the beloved foam-topped tart/sweet cocktail of South America. Pisco Sour – the featured drink on our Upper Amazon Rainforest Cruise on National Geographic Adventures.
After a long, sweaty day of tromping around the Amazon rainforest looking at creepy critters or gliding through the waters of a tributary bird-watching, a girl needs a DRINK. Our travel adventure also included an adventure in the bar, making these.
HOW TO MAKE A PISCO SOUR – PER COCKTAIL:
- 3 oz. Pisco Puro Quebranta
- 1 oz. fresh lime juice
- 1 oz. simple syrup
- 1/2 egg white (just punch the top of an egg slightly and dribble some of the white, see pix, above)
- 6 ice cubes
- 2 drops bitters
Use a cocktail shaker. Pour all in except bitters; shake vigorously for one minute. Pour into glass, add drops of bitters. Salud!
