California 2015, the drought carries on. We’re supposed to reduce water usage; I don’t believe many people do much to make a dent. Look at this option, thanks Bacara Resort in Goleta, CA. Fountains are shut off and planted with succulents and trinkets.
The resort made a commitment to wrecking their fountains. Considering the premises are filled with swimming pools, hot tubs, showers, steam rooms, even a beach cleaning station to get the tar off your feet and shoes. It’s a resort! What can they really do about reducing water without wrecking their business?? They make a statement, a gesture. It was lovely.
Naturally, all the rooms have signs that request patrons be sensitive to water usage. If you read into it, they mean use towels more than once. Take shorter showers. Don’t use that gorgeous bathtub. OK, I’m game.
