Eating in Paris

Post image for Eating in Paris

A dreamy week in Paris; how I got there sans Larry should be noted. My longtime food pro friend, Denise Vivaldo had two books nominated for prestigious Gourmand Best in the World Cookbook Awards, and she invited ME to join her. She also was a featured presenter at the Paris Cookbook Fair, teaching food styling skills. My happy job – reporter and photographer, so have a read here:

Have you been to Paris?  What are your favorite food memories? My third visit, this “once a decade” pattern is definitely not enough.

Today I am foggy brained from landing home just last evening, and woke up at 3:30 AM. Instead of tossing and turning, I got up to play with my photos.  I’ll update this post with links to the stories once published. Meanwhile, feast on some of our activities – looking at food, experiencing food, appreciating food. A treasured memory, each one:

Now look what you’ve done. I have to wipe the drool off my keyboard. I miss living in Paris and eating all that wonderful food. Merci beaucoup for taking me back!

My single strongest food memory of Paris is a foie gras sandwich my husband and I shared at a November street antique fair, along with a tiny glass of Sauternes. It was cold and raining. The sandwich: crisp baguette, butter, creamy bloc de foie gras sprinkled with coarse salt. An unexpected delicacy.

These are fabulous photos of your Parisian food adventures. Your essays on the Gourmand Awards and Cookbook Fair made me feel like I was right there. You must have had a rollicking good time with Denise with a laugh a minute. Lucky you. Bravo!
