How to Make a DIY Bloody Mary Bar

Bloody Mary BarBlogger Michael of South Bay Foodies rolled a serious-sized ice chest into our potluck meeting of the Food Bloggers LA (FBLA) today. And in a flash, he set up an impressive Bloody Mary Bar. Which, obviously, made the meeting a whole lot more lively (Saturday, 10 AM – yeah baby)!

FBLA is a community of Southern California food bloggers that meets monthly to share info about the blogging process – and good eats! Door prizes, too… the enlightening and entertaining Denise Vivaldo provided copies of her books, nominated for prestigious Gourmand Awards in Paris (more on this upcoming… I’m joining her Paris adventure to attend the awards, cookbook fair, her food styling presentation and more!).

Back to the meeting…  here is how to Make Your Own Bloody Mary Bar by Michael Jenkins-Brown (see bottom photo of his handsome smile) of South Bay Foodies.  On a tray, offer:

  • Vodka – frosty freezer-cold
  • Bloody Mary mix – refrigerated
  • Hot sauce
  • Worcestershire Sauce
  • Soy Sauce
  • Capers
  • Horseradish
  • Lemons, limes in wedges
  • Celery stalks
  • Spanish Olives
  • Cherry or grape tomatoes
  • Ice
  • Cups, stir sticksBloody Mary Instructions

What a great idea! I’m stealing this one for sure. Too bad I missed it– hope someone has a similar idea for the next meeting 🙂

We were sad when it rolled back out the door, Kelly.

Adorable. I love the idea of someone rolling in with this. 😀

I did not know that it was Michael’s brain-child, as I was late, but I took full advantage of Bloody Mary’s awakening powers:)
You are so good at recording everything – so quick with your camera (as opposed to me, who even forgot to bring one:)
Great job!
