On behalf of all Pattis, Patricias, Pattys, Patricks, Pats and Paddys, today is “our” day. Our weather here in Southern California just turned gorgeous, and stores are full of spring flowers (this photo was shot in Chicago – home of some pretty great St. Patty’s Day activities). Larry surprised me yesterday with a beautiful spray of fresh tulips, which reminded me of this photo, which reminded me of this idea for a post… a roundup of good recipes I’ve posted featuring the color green. Enjoy!
St. Patrick Day’s dinner here tonight will be Green Turkey Chili in the Crockpot. Not one for the corned beef and cabbage menu, we go for spicy, but light green eats. The Crockpot works a lot in this household.
Pork with Thai Green Curry Sauce – a very nice appetizer. Keep this Hugh Carpenter recipe in your file for party planning.
And speaking of lentils (which I wasn’t but just seeing if you were paying attention), Lemon Lentils are super cheap, super easy, super tasty.
Green Salsa Chicken is a time-saver and quite luscious.
And, of course, the mother of all green eats in my book is Andersen’s Pea Soup, a delicious bowl of yummy, but also a traveler’s spot you should never pass up when driving up our beautiful coastline here in California.
