My 2009 Gratitude List

Santa Claus Ornament

This was a giant year for food blogging, I think. So many people joined the ranks, as did I. The learning curve! Achieving a modicum of success doesn’t happen in a vacuum; I want to THANK some gracious folks and Secret Santas for your generous boosts:

Hungry Hungry Hippie and The Pink Apron – for lovely Guest Posts while I vacationed. Perfect match for my style! Happy to reciprocate anytime, friends…

Use Real Butter and Recipe Girl along with Lindaraxa’s Garden, Show Food Chef, Small Pleasures Catering and The Diva That Ate New York for supportive tweets and inspiring posts. To You Know What You Ought To Do for the fun post (and link) to my Lazy Pots de Crème, I love you. And to ALL OF YOU who “stumbled” that post, which has had close to 15,000 views – WOW, many thanks…

Obliged to industry giant Saveur for including Worth The Whisk in your “Best of the Web” Sites We Love list…

Those of you who gave WTW a vote of confidence on The Kitchn’s Homie Awards 2009 call for nominations, a BIG KISS…

In Erika’s Kitchen – thanks, girlfriend, for jump-starting a growing LA community of food bloggers, through which I’ve become an admirer of What’s Gaby Cooking and Food Woolf (having shared a speaking engagement recently) and other newfound peers…

A shout-out to Tastespotting and Foodgawker for publishing so many of my photos. And just as importantly, Tastestopping for publishing my rejects – which ALSO sent many viewers here (go figure!)…

Longtime friend, Food Fanatics Unwashed and newfound pal, Food Bloggers Unite! – many thanks for graciously accepting the task of presenting at Camp Blogaway next May. Am looking forward to bonding with this growing group of social media enthusiasts ALREADY signed up: Former Chef, Pink Stripes, You Can Eat That, This Mama Cooks!, Over The Hill And On A Roll, Mimi’s Kitchen, Lentil Breakdown, Half Hour Meals, Food For Thought, Family Fresh Cooking, Eat This Lens, Earthbound Chronicles, Dinners for a Year and Beyond, Cooking with Anne, Cherry Creek Designs, Chefdruck Musings, Celtic Mommy, Zespri Kiwifruit, Nestle, Wilton, Blogcatalog.com, A Weight Lifted, Brown Egg Marketing, Sugar In The Raw, Adventures of a Wannabe Foodie, La Fuji Mama, Foodie In Disguise, Tastestopping, Four Chickens, Christine Cooks… (more coming to this list).

And SWAK to my husband, Larry. You eat what I cook, good man. You are my soulmate, travel buddy, cooking partner, and my bestest friend. I love you.

Best Wishes to all my readers for a happy, healthy, prosperous 2010.

Thanks so much for the mention and the spirit behind this post. I am learning more and more how much my experience benefits when I remember what blogging is all about: connection. You have summed that up nicely here! Looking forward to working with you at Camp Blogaway.

I get to add you to my gratitude list! I had a wonderful visit…especially the camera and food styling tips and tricks! I’m fully aware that what we see done by stylists is NOT what their families eat…oh for an equal playing field! Now if I could just get home to cook while there’s still daylight! LOL! Merry Christmas!!

Happy to have done the exchange. Yours will be up next week. I just wish I had the budget to attend Camp Blogaway. I am sure it will be very successful and a lot of fun.

It has been my pleasure to have you as a friend. Your guest post on my blog Lindaraxa’s Garden, inspired me and others to make our own pumpkin puree and oh, what a treat. Hopefully this year i will get a new camera and you can show me all the new tricks you have learned on yours. Merry Christmas!
