Don, thanks as always for these. I agree that Paula's cooking is RICH. But she's a kick in the pants. They just announced she will be our Rose Parade Grand Marshall here in LA on New Year's Day.

Paula has a recipe for a hot crab dip that is amazingly tasty, when ever I make it to take to a party I always stand close to the food table so I can get a couple of bites in before it is all gone. There never is any left. True to Paula, it is jam packed with rich ingredients. Not the prettiest, mostly shades of golden brown when cooked and there is enough oil to tip some off before serving. I add panko crumbs to the top and a little spanish paprika towards the end of the oven baking. http://www.food.com/recipe/paula-deens-hot-crab-dip-401488 Another favorite dip from the IPC recipe files is this artichoke/potato dip. It too is very rich: http://www.idahopotato.com/recipes/id-705/

When I'm going to a food blogger potluck, or any pot luck for that matter I love to make recipes that I've been dying to make for a long time but haven't made for whatever reason. Usually they are things that are so rich that I couldn't be trusted with more than one serving or something that seems tremendously impractical for only one person. I know, to be safe, I should probably make things I've tried at least once before but that is rarely the case.
