My Third Egg Cooker

Post image for My Third Egg Cooker

Oster-Egg-CookerI burned out the first two with use. Almost daily, I have poached eggs with this Oster Egg Cooker. And at least once a week, I hard cook a supply of eggs. For Easter, the machine was working hard.

But these gadgets take practice, pretty easy to overcook eggs in it, and this third one seems to cook hotter than my previous two; adjusting the amount of water is hit and miss still.  There are measuring levels in the base, add some water.  For poached, crack into little cups (sprayed with PAM).

For hard-cooked, first pierce the end of the egg with a pin.  Cover, push the button and when the water all boils dry, it turns off.  Eggs are cheep, cheep, cheep in the spring, too, due to egg producers gearing up for Easter.   Which makes me happy, what about you?

Linda, sounds like you did your best by calling the company. I will keep my eyes peeled for an alternative.

You are lucky to have this Oster Egg Cooker. I had one for 7 plus years and used it really often. Well, it finally died….and now I can not find one, and have puchached the Krupps and the Cusinart. Both other brands were bad, bad…wouldn’t cook a poached egg correctly, and other problems. Would love to find a Oster, called the company asking them to come out again with the same model, because it worked like a charm. Any suggestions ?????

It took me two weeks to get used to my first egg cooker, but when I did the eggs turned out to be great.

Michael, from my experience, super fresh eggs dont hard-cook as well as eggs that are a week old. Maybe that will help.

I had problems cooking my fresh eggs when I first used an egg cooker. Took me a week before I got to grips with it.
